ERRATIC DRIVING LEADS TO CHARGES AGAINST DRIVER AND PASSENGERS

(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On Sunday, October 5, 2014 at approximately 10:05 p.m., a member of Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle for speeding and erratic driving southbound on Hwy. 6 near Williamsford, in the Township of Chatsworth.

Investigation revealed that the driver and his two passengers had recently smoked marihuana. Marihuana and drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle, a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis.

The driver was arrested for driving impaired by drug. At the OPP Detachment, a Drug Recognition Expert Officer conducted tests on the driver, which he had passed.

Driver, Brett Albert COULSON, age 19, was charged with Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis resin – over 1gram under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and speeding under the Highway Traffic Act.

Passenger, Jacob Andrew ALLAN, age 20, was charged with Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis resin – over 1gram under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Passenger, Steven Stirling NORMAN, age 20, was charged with Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis resin – over 1gram under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

All three males are from Oro-Mendonte Township. They are scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, November 13, 2014.
