(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred in Severn Township.
On October 7, 2014 at approximately 7:51 a.m., the Orillia OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision at Burnside Line and Division Road in Severn Township. On arrival at scene officers found a dump truck and a car in the ditch off of Burnside Line.
The male driver of the car was confirmed deceased at the scene while a male passenger was transported to a Toronto area trauma centre. A male passenger and female passenger in the car were transported to an area hospital. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
The intersection of Division Road and Burnside Line will be closed until further notice while the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TTCI) investigates the collision.
