(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On August 31, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) re-attended a residence on Indiana Street in the Town of Blind River.
A male who was arrested and charged a day prior for uttering threats was released on conditions not to communicate and not to attend the female’s residence. Shortly after 3:00 p.m. the male was parked outside her residence and began yelling at her.
As a result, Ross HEFFERN, 48 years of age, was arrested and charged with: Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by an Officer in Charge (X2), contrary to section 145(5.1) of the Criminal Code.
The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie on September 1, 2016.
INTOXICATED MALE ARRESTED
(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On August 31, 2016, shortly after 10:00 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an intoxicated male in their yard at an address on Eastman Road in Town of Blind River.
The male who was unknown to the complainant was sitting on their patio chair was confused and didn’t know where he was.
As a result, Dwayne GIGNAC, 24 years of age from Mississauga First Nation, Ontario, was arrested and charged with:
Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1 of the Criminal Code (CC); and
Trespassing at Night, contrary to section 177 of the CC.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on October 6, 2016.
