(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment is looking for public assistance in locating a lost firearm.
The firearm is a .22 caliber Savage rifle, model 2250, black in colour. It was unloaded and equipped with an empty 5 round magazine. The firearm fell off the back of a vehicle onto Tracey’s Hill Road Friday afternoon (December 18) between 3-4 pm.
The firearm was picked up by a passing motorist.
The OPP is asking anyone having information on this occurrence to contact the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Information can also be reported anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or by going to www.khcs.ca and submitting an anonymous tip online.
