(MADOC, ON) – On January 10, 2014 at 5:50 a.m. members of the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement – Bureau Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Central Hastings Detachment executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act warrant and a Criminal Code search warrant at a residence on Springbrook Road in the Municipality of Centre Hastings.
Investigators seized 180 grams of marihuana bud, 0.5 gram of cannabis resin and three insecurely stored rifles. The seized drugs have an estimated street value of $1865.
As a result, 62 year old Sandra FLEMING of Madoc, ON was arrested and charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Cannabis Resin – Under 1 gram. Sixty-five year old Grant FLEMING of Madoc, ON and 35 year old Jeffery FLEMING of Madoc , ON were both arrested and charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Cannabis Resin – Under 1 gram and Careless Use of a Firearm. Jeffery FLEMING faces an additional charge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.
Grant FLEMING and Sandra FLEMING will appear in Ontario Court of Justice, Belleville on February 13, 2014.
Jeff FLEMING was held in custody pending a show cause hearing today.
