(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On December 16, 2015 at approximately 11:50 p.m., an officer with the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) responded to a call at Woodfield Crescent, Guelph-Eramosa Township about a male sitting in his car with the vehicle running. Police spoke with a male and he appeared to be impaired by a drug. He was arrested and during the search, Police located items utilized for illegal drug use. Police also learned the he was not following conditions imposed on him by a Police Service from outstanding criminal charges. He was brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for testing.
The driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
33-year-old Lee BLOXAM of Guelph has been charged with Care or Control While Impaired by a Drug and Fail to Comply with a Condition of an Undertaking Given by an Officer in Charge X 3 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on January 26, 2016 to answer to the charges.
