(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment is investigating a drowning at the Caledonia Dam, Grand River, Haldimand County, ON.
On Friday September 26th, 2014 at approximately 4:50 pm Emergency Services responded to the Caledonia Dam after a male was observed in the water and was pulled under by the current.
Several citizens went to the aid of the male and pulled him to shore where they conduct CPR until arrival of emergency workers. Police and Haldimand County Paramedics continued with life – saving efforts before transporting the male to hospital where he was pronounced deceased by the attending physician.
The deceased male has been identified as 22 year old Tim CHRISTO of Hamilton, ON.
A post mortem examination is to be conducted to determine the exact cause of death which is presumed to be drowning.
