(Asphodel-Norwood Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to a single vehicle collision on Trent River Road (Peterborough County Road 42) just after 12:30am Sunday morning.
An eastbound Dodge Caravan lost control, crossed the roadway and rolled several times. The force of the rolling vehicle snapped a hydro pole. A 24 year old male passenger had to be extracted from the vehicle. He was taken to a Kingston area hospital with serious injuries.
The 40 year old man from Mississauga, ON failed to remain and was arrested a short distance from the scene of the crash. Officers from the Peterborough County OPP and Highway Safety Division continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this collision.
The roadway was closed for several hours while Collision Reconstructionist and Technical Collision Investigators measured and documented the scene.
