Driver Airlifted To Hospital After Collision With Tree

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently investigating a single vehicle collision that took place early this morning northeast of Wingham. Just after 5:00 a.m. Huron County OPP, Huron County EMS and Wingham Fire Depart personnel responded to the collision scene located on B Line Road between Gilmour Line and Salem Road.

Preliminary investigation has revealed the driver of a Ford Freestar passenger van was travelling eastbound on B Line Road when he crossed over the westbound lane and left the roadway. The van ultimately collided with a tree in the north ditch. Wingham Fire Department personnel extricated the lone occupant, driver from the vehicle.

The driver, 21 year old Brady STAMPER from Morris-Turnbery was airlifted to hospital in London with life threatening injuries.

OPP West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
