Drinking Novice Driver Has Vehicle Towed

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Sunday morning July 13, 2014, shortly after 2 a.m. a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer conducted a traffic stop on Line 14 north of St.Marys.

The 21 year old male driver of the car, a Stratford resident was administered a roadside breath test using a roadside screening device. He registered a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) from .05 to .08, and was issued a 3 day driver’s licence suspension. He was also charged with “novice driver – BAC above zero”. None of the four male passengers in the car were able to drive the vehicle from the scene as they had also been drinking. The vehicle was subsequently towed from the scene. One of the 4 male passengers was also charged with “having liquor in open container in other than licenced premises, residence or private place”.
