DRINKING AND DRIVING

(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On October 14, 2014 at approximately 3:22 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were patrolling Highway 6 near Kortright Avenue, Guelph and observed a male driver of a 2009 Chevrolet involved in a Highway Traffic Act violation. Police conducted a traffic stop and the man showed signs of being impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and transported to a local Operations Centre for further testing.

The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days as per statute.

Darryl ATKINSON age 31 from Guelph has been charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on November 4, 2014 to answer to the charge.
