(COLLINGWOOD AND THE BLUE MOUNTAINS, ONTARIO) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two motorists with drinking and driving offences over the last few days in our area.
The first one took place on the 28th of February 2014 shortly before 5:00am when officers received information on a vehicle parked on Blueski George Crescent in The Blue Mountains. Police located the vehicle and upon speaking to the male driver it was found that he was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and transported to Collingwood detachment for processing.
Charged is 48 year-old Steven SORENSEN of Etobicoke, he is facing charges of care or controle while impaired and care or control over 80mgs. He is to appear in Owen Sound court on the 20th of March 2014.
The second incident took place on the 1st of March 2014 at 11:10pm when officers received a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on High Street in Collingwood. Police located the vehicle and upon speaking to the driver it was found that the female driver was under the influence of alcohol. She was subsequently arrested and transported to Collingwood detachment for processing.
Charged is 56 year-old Anne WILSON of North York. She is facing charges of driving while ability impaired and fail/refuse to provide sample, she is to appear in Collingwood court on the 25th of March 2014.
