(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – On January 17, 2016, at approximately 00:45 a.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle with an expired licence plate, travelling on Dundas Street, near Elgin Road.
Officers conducted a traffic stop of the silver Chevrolet pickup truck, and determined the male driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening device was administered, and the driver registered a “fail”.
The male was placed under arrest, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for further breath testing.
As a result of the police investigation, 37-year-old Donald STEWART, from Lambton Shores, Ontario, has been charged with care or control over 80 mgs, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charge in a London court on February 25, 2016.
