(Havelock Belmont Methuen Township, ON) – On Tuesday, January 7, at approximately 9 p.m., members of the Peterborough County OPP were called to investigate a report of a domestic assault that occurred at a Victoria Street residence.
Attending officers were advised that a 43 year old male of Havelock, and a 38 year old female of Peterborough who had been in a domestic relationship had been visiting a friends’ home when they became involved in a physical confrontation. The male then fled the residence and police were called to the scene. Officers subsequently located the male was located a short distance away from the residence and arrested.
As a result of the investigation the 43 year old male has been charged with Assault. He was released from custody with a future court appearance scheduled for January 30 2014 to appear in Peterborough Provincial Courts.
The identities of the parties involved are being withheld due to the nature of the offence.
