Domantas KACIUSKA – 151 In An 80

(EAST-ZORRA TAVISTOCK, ON.) – On October 26, 2016 at approximately 8:15 p.m. Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Oxford Road 4 near the 17th Line in East-Zorra Tavistock Township.

Police observed the pick-up truck to be travelling at approximate speeds up to 151km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. Based on the observations and investigative steps taken by police, the male driver, 22-year-old Domantas KACIUSKA of Otterville was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with the following:

Race a motor vehicle – excessive speed

His driver’s licence was suspended for 7 days and the vehicle has been impounded for the prescribed 7-day period.

Drivers who engage in high risk driving behavior put everyone at risk. Speeding makes it difficult for drivers to react to change, stop suddenly and control a vehicle. In the case of a collision, the higher the speed the more severe the collision and the more likely that serious injury or death will occur.

OPP would like to remind the motoring public to manage their time and respect all the rules of the road when travelling.
