Dog Missing After Fatal Collision

(McNab-Braeside Township, ON) – On October 7, 2016 at approximately 4:30 a,m, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) – Renfrew detachment along with OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) responded to a collision on Highway 17 at Calabogie Road in McNab-Braeside Township involving six vehicles – five (5) passenger vehicles and a commercial truck.

As a result of the collision, a 38 year old male from Renfrew and a 34 year old female from Renfrew were taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

A 39 year old woman from Arnprior was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the deceased female is not being released pending notification of next of kin. A post mortem is scheduled to take place in Ottawa on October 8, 2016.

A rottweiler dog, which was in the deceased woman’s vehicle, fled the scene after the collision. If any person locates this dog, they are asked to contact animal control or the Renfrew OPP.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

As of 9:45 p.m., all lanes of Highway #17 have been re-opened.
