Do You Know Who Is Missing These Pickup Truck Parts?

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) – On Sunday February 21, 2016, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to South Perth Centennial Elementary School located along Perth Road 163 (north of Rannoch), regarding damage done to their sports fields.

Investigation revealed that sometime between Saturday February 20, 2016, and Sunday February 21, 2016, unknown person(s) drove a pickup truck onto the grassy sport fields located on the north-west side of the school. The pickup truck was driven around in tight circles as if doing “donuts”. This resulted in deep ruts to the grassy field. These manoeuvres may have caused the driver to lose control, strike another object, or partially roll the vehicle. This action caused the front bumper, tailgate, a mud flap and a number of other parts to come loose from the vehicle. The vehicle departed the scene leaving the loose parts behind.

From the parts located at the scene, it appears that the vehicle is an older model gold coloured GMC pickup truck. The truck was badly rusted and may not have been plated. It may also be status “unfit” (not roadworthy) and may have been used on a local farm as a “beater truck”.

This is not the first time that South Perth Centennial Elementary School has been the victim of this type of senseless damage. During the past few years similar incidents have resulted in damage to the sports fields.

The culprit(s) may have accessed the school property by means of a driveway leading from Road 138 which is located behind the school.

The Perth County OPP is requesting anyone with information about this vehicle or the persons who may have been responsible for the damage, to contact them at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000
