ATV and Snowmobile Operators Get 3 Day Suspension For Drinking

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A snowmobile operator and an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) operator were both given 3-day suspensions this past weekend after a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped them travelling together on Huron Park Road.

At approximately 12:11 a.m. on February 27, 2016 a Huron OPP officer spotted a Ski-Doo and a Polaris ATV travelling westbound on Huron Park Road in Huron Park. Upon stopping the drivers the officer detected both drivers had been drinking alcohol. Both drivers were tested on a roadside screening device and both registered a “Warn”. As a result they were each served with an automatic 3-day driver’s licence suspension.

Additionally, the 46-year old South Huron driver of the Ski-Doo was charged with failing to display a valid permit on his machine. The 30-year-old South Huron driver of the Polaris ATV was charged with Fail to Surrender Permit for Off Road Vehicle.
