DISQUALIFIED DRIVER CHARGED

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A vehicle stop recently conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in a local male facing numerous driving related charges.

On August 18, 2014 an OPP officer stopped a vehicle on Duke Street in Bobcaygeon as investigation indicated that the licence plates were not authorized for the vehicle on which they were attached. Further investigation revealed that the driver was disqualified from driving and that the vehicle was not insured.

As a result, Robert PARKER, 70 years of age, of Bobcaygeon, was charged with driving while disqualified, contrary to the Criminal Code, driving with improper plates, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and driving without insurance, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on September 18, 2014.
