(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – On September 13, 2015, at approximately 2:15 a.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a possible impaired driver travelling southbound on Wharncliffe Road, in the City of London, Ontario.
Officers conducted a traffic stop of the red Ford sport utility vehicle (SUV), and determined that the male driver had been drinking alcohol. The male was arrested and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath testing, which revealed he had consumed more than twice the legal limit of alcohol.
As a result of the police investigation, 44-year-old Derrick MARTIN, from London, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol and drug), and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear, and is scheduled to appear in a London court on October 22, 2015, to answer to the charges.
