(WASAGA BEACH, ON) – On August 23rd, 2015 at approximately 1:20 p.m. member of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, Wasaga Beach Fire Department, Simcoe County Paramedic Service and Staff from the Wasaga Beach Ontario Parks responded to a report that two females were on a raft off shore in Nottawasaga Bay. Further that both had fallen off the raft, one resurfaced but one did not.
An extensive water search resulted in a 23 year old female from Toronto being located in approximately 7 feet of water.
This female was transported to hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.
Deceased is Yelizaveta PAVLYSHYN 23 years old from Toronto.
A post mortem examination will be conducted later this date.
