(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On January 17, 2014 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a single vehicle collision that resulted in the driver being arrested and charged with alcohol related offences.
The vehicle was located on Portage Road near Centennial Park Road after it had rolled onto the driver’s side, subsequently trapping the lone occupant and driver. With ambulance, fire and police on scene the male driver was extricated from the vehicle. He was not injured.
An OPP officer on scene initiated an investigation and determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. As a result of the investigation Daniel OLHISER, 62 years of age, of Brock Township, was arrested and subsequently charged with the following offences:
Having care or control of a vehicle while impaired
Having care or control of a vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 mL of blood
Driving a motor vehicle with open container of liquor, contrary to the Liquor Licence Act
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on February 20, 2014.
