Daniel BELEAN Arrested For Refusing To Blow

(LONDON, ON) – On June 24, 2017, at approximately 7:00 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the area of Highway 401 and Colonel Talbot Road for reports of a possible impaired driver.

A member of the public reported a motor vehicle being driven erratically, the witness provided police with a description of the vehicle and the area where the vehicle was last observed.

With the information provided by the witness, police were able to locate the vehicle in question and speak to the motorist.

Officers determined that the 44-year-old male driver of the vehicle had consumed alcohol. He was transported a Middlesex County OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the police investigation, Daniel BELEAN of Union, New Jersey, U.S.A., has been charged with having Care or Control While Impaired (Alcohol) and CC Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC).

The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charges in a London court on August 7th, 2017.

The OPP reminds all Ontarians that traffic safety is a shared responsibility. Persons who have information or believe to be following a possible impaired driver are encouraged to call 911 and report the event.
