The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 94 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested.
Man Arrested from ‘Wanted List’ CK15002544
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man from their ‘Wanted List’.
On January 5, 2015, the man attended a residence on Blythewood Crescent to visit a woman known to him. Upon leaving, the man stole the woman’s e-bike. The woman contacted police when she noticed her e-bike was missing. Through investigation, officers found the e-bike on Park Avenue West and returned it to the woman. Shortly after 10:00 p.m. the man was located and taken into custody. He was charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He was released from custody pending a future court date.
On January 20, 2015, the man failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Yesterday afternoon, Kevin Parker, 48 years, of Queen Street in Chatham turned himself into police headquarters. He was released with conditions pending a future court date of February 13, 2015.
Man Charged with Assault CK15002599
The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following an assault investigation early this morning.
While at a local sports bar in Chatham, the man approached his ex-girlfriend. The woman asked the man to leave her alone. The man met the woman and her boyfriend outside in the parking lot and a verbal altercation began. As the couple attempted to drive away, the man smashed a window in the woman’s vehicle causing her to sustain minor cuts. The man then punched the boyfriend. The couple contacted police as they fled the area.
Around 3:30 a.m. officers located the man and he was taken into custody. The 33-year-old Chatham man has been charged with two counts of assault and mischief under $5000. He has been held pending a bail hearing.
Break and Enter in Chatham CK15002505
The Chatham-Kent police are looking for information regarding a break and enter in Chatham
Sometime on January 28, 2015 between midnight and 6:00 a.m. unknown suspect(s) forced their way into Jim’s Six Cent Shop on King Street West causing about $250 damage to the front door. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole old Canadian currency, a 9†hunting knife with dark brown wooden handle and bear engraved on the blade and a 13†dagger with a gold handle and tip. Total value of the theft is approximately $3200.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK15002538
Around 2:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, emergency crews responded to a two vehicle collision on Longwoods Road in Chatham Township.
A passenger was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention. Damage was estimated at $3500.
A 26-year-old Chatham man was charged with following too closely.
