(WEST NIPISSING, ON.) – On Saturday, September 21 at approximately 3:40pm, the OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 17 between Sturgeon Falls and Verner. A vehicle left the roadway and struck a hydro pole causing a power outage.
The Highway was closed until Hydro One could attend to deal with live wires on the highway and the vehicle. The West Nipissing Fire Service, Emergency Medical Service and West Nipissing Police Service attended to assist.
The vehicle occupants, a 75 year old male and a 75 year female from the United States were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol was not a factor in the collision. Charges are pending.
