Craig RUSSELL – Drunk Driving

(COLLINGWOOD, ON) – Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a motorist last evening after receiving a report about a possible impaired driver in the Collingwood area.

On February 2 2017 at 7:00pm OPP officers received a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver in the area of Highway 26 and Beachwood Road in Collingwood. Officers subsequently located the vehicle and during the vehicle stop it became apparent that the driver was under the influence alcohol which led to his arrest and transport to detachment for processing.

Charged is Craig RUSSELL, 45 years-old from Sudbury, he is facing charges of Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired by Alcohol and Driving With More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood.

He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) for Driving While Under Suspension, as well under the Liquor License Act (LLA) for Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA) for Own Or Operate Motor Vehicle on Highway – No Insurance. He is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on March 21 2017.
