(LAKESHORE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Lakeshore was set up in front of the Lakeshore OPP Detachment on Notre Dame Street with a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program, at approximately 1:30 a.m. on August 1, 2015.
The suspect vehicle was observed to turn off onto a side street to avoid the RIDE program. An officer followed the vehicle in question where it sped away through several residential streets before coming to a stop in the 1600 block of Elmwood Avenue, where the driver fled the vehicle on foot.
The investigating officer engaged in a foot pursuit and arrested the suspect a short distance away.
Cody TREPANIER, age 22 of Lakeshore, was charged with the following offences:
Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Flight While Being Pursued by Peace Officer
Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest
He will appear in a Windsor court on August 20, 2015 to answer to the charges.
