(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Bracebridge detachment arrested a male for pointing a handgun at a Bracebridge resident, which was later determined to be a BB gun.
On December 1, 2013 at approximately 10:10 am police were called to a Bracebridge residence to respond to an assault with a weapon where the male suspect pointed what appeared to be a handgun at the victim. Police arrived on scene and found that the male suspect had fled on foot.
The Emergency Response Team (ERT), K-9 unit, and Bracebridge members tracked the male. The male and the gun were located a short distance away. The handgun was determined to be a Carbon Dioxide BB Pistol and was seized for evidence.
The male suspect Christian AUCLAIR 18-year-old male from Bracebridge has been charged with
CC 88 Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
CC 90 Carrying concealed weapon
CDSA 4(1) Possession of Marihuana – under 30grams
CC 267(a) Assault with A Weapon
The charged male was held in custody and will attend Bracebridge Court on December 2, 2013.
