CHEMICALS FOUND IN PALMERSTON

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On Friday October 11, 2013 at approximately 10:55 am Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a Norman Street property in Palmerston, Town of Minto. Suspicious chemicals that were found in an open area and a perimeter of 50 metres was set up as a precaution for safety reasons. Canadian Transport Emergency Centre (C.A.N.U.T.E.C.) was consulted as a safety measure but did not attend. Police were able to dispose of the chemicals in a safe manner. It was later determined that the chemicals are used to measure PH levels and it is unknown why they were left there.
