At about 12:30 a.m. yesterday morning a suspect attended the Royal Canadian Legion on William Street in Chatham and smashed a window to gain entry. He rummaged around the interior of the Legion then exited without taking anything. Police were called to investigate and the suspect was identified through the use of security video. He was located later in the morning and arrested.
A 46-year-old Chatham man has been charged with breaking and entering. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
