At about 7:30 p.m. last night police were called to an apartment on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg in response to a domestic dispute.
A male and female had been arguing but there was no evidence of any criminal offences. The male was asked to leave the residence as it belonged to the woman. He left without incident.
Suspecting the man would return, the officers remained nearby. A short time later, the man did return in an agitated state. He became belligerent with the officers when they questioned him about his return. He attempted to enter the apartment building and refused to converse with the officers to explain his intentions. Concerned for the woman’s safety given the previous dispute and the man’s behaviour, officers arrested him for breaching the peace. He was transported to police headquarters and later released without charges.
