Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – August 9, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 116 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Three people were arrested.

Man Charged with Breach of Recognizance – CK15023920

On August 8th 2015, around 9:30pm, a 25 year old male party in Chatham was observed by police to be out past his 9pm curfew. The male was arrested for Breach of Recognizance and held for a bail hearing.

Man charged with Impaired Driving – CK15023960

On August 9th 2015, while on patrol in Chatham around 2:00am, an officer observed a vehicle being driven in an unusual manner, striking a curb. Police stopped the vehicle and the driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to HQ where he refused the breath demand. The 34 year old male was charged with Impaired Operation, Refuse to Breath Demand, drive disqualified and drive while under suspension. He was later released with a future court date.

Stolen vehicle/pursuit – CK15023967

Around 4:00am, in Wallaceburg, a man contacted police reporting his pickup truck being stolen as it occurred. Police located the vehicle on Arnold Rd., attempting to stop the vehicle. The vehicle continued and eventually came to a stop on Poplar St., at a bean field. The vehicle was located abandoned in the field and neither vehicle involved sustained damage. The driver of the stolen vehicle has not yet been identified.
