The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 143 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested.
Man Charged with Breach of Recognizance
On July 10th, 2015 a male party was released from custody on a Recognizance of Bail. At that time the male was directed by courts to live at a specified address and notify Police of any address changes. Investigation revealed that the male was not abiding by his conditions and on Friday, August 7th, 2015 at approximately 2:45pm the accused was arrested and charged with Breach of Recognizance and Resist Arrest. The accused is held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE)
Last night, officers conducted RIDE spot checks in Wallaceburg, Blenheim and Chatham. A total of 219 vehicles were stopped with no infractions observed.
Man Charged with Weapons Offences
On Friday, August 7th 2015 Police were dispatched to a dispute in the area of Baldoon Road in Chatham. Police attended and the dispute was ongoing. One of the males was in possession of a knife and using it in an assaultive manner towards another male. At approximately 4:35pm the accused was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon, Weapons Dangerous and Breach of Probation. There were no injuries as a result of the disturbance. The accused is held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Breach of Probation
On Friday, August 7, 2015 Police were dispatched to a dispute in the area of Baldoon Road in Chatham. One of the males involved in the dispute was found to be outstanding on a warrant for two counts of Breach of Probation. At approximately 4:35pm the accused was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Liquor Offence
On August 08, 2015 at approximately 3:00am Police attended the area of James Street in Wallaceburg. At that time Officers observed a male party who was yelling and causing a disturbance. The accused was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. For his own safety the accused was arrested and held in custody until sober.
