(Ottawa, ON) – On August 20, 2015, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Ottawa Detachment responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 417 eastbound near the Eagleson Road overpass.
At approximately 7:05 pm, a white coloured vehicle cut off an eastbound motorcycle. As a result, the motorcyclist lost control and was thrown from his motorcycle where he landed in the south ditch. The white vehicle continued eastbound.
The 44 year old driver of the motorcycle was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and later released.
As result of media coverage, the driver of the white vehicle contacted the Ottawa OPP detachment.
The female driver, 35 year old Chantal Catherine FORMICA of Ottawa, is charged with:
Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident Involving Bodily Harm to contrary to section 252 (1.2) of the Criminal Code.
She was released on August 21, 2015, and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Ottawa on October 6, 2015.
