(WALKERTON, ON) – On April 18th, 2011 at 8:43 am, the South Bruce OPP received a report of an overnight theft from a vehicle while it was parked at a residence along Thomas Street in Walkerton. Sometime between 11:00 pm on April 17th, 2011 and 8:00 am on April 18th, 2011 a quantity of cash and a cell phone were taken from a Volkswagen Passat. The South Bruce OPP is reminding residents of tips from the Lock it or Lose it program to prevent further thefts from vehicles:
Always roll up your vehicle’s windows, lock the doors and pocket the key
If you have a garage use it; lock the door and the vehicle
Always park your vehicle in a well lit area
Never leave valuables in plain sight. Put them in the trunk or in the house
