(Howick Township, ON) – A 17 year old North Huron male remains in police custody this morning following a three hour long incident which began in Howick Township at approximately 5:00 pm and ended in Culross Township at approximately 8:00 pm on April 19, 2011.
In an incident spurred by jealousy, the 17 year old male levelled a rifle at a 19 year old male and threatened to kill him. The 17 year old then left the property where the threat occurred and was later located at a friend’s home in Culross Township.
After negotiation with police and with the assistance of the accused’s father, he exited the residence without incident where he was then taken into custody.
No shots were fired during the incident and no one was injured.
The male is now facing one count of Point a Firearm, one count of Utter Threats to Cause Death, one count of Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, one count of Careless Use of a Firearm and one count of Assault. The male will be facing a Bail Hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich this morning.
