(NORWICH TOWNSHIP, ON.) – The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter at a dairy farm located on Greenly Line in Norwich Township on June 29, 2014. The suspect(s) had attended the farm overnight and opened the gates and pen areas allowing numerous cows to walk freely around the property. After securing the cows back into the barn the next morning, the owner discovered that two young calves were missing.
Through investigation, the female Holsteins ages 4 days and 8 days were located on a property in Zorra Township. One male was arrested without incident on July 1, 2014.
Nicholas CLAYBURN, 19 years of South West Oxford Township has been charged with the following:
Break and Enter to a place – Commit Indictable Offence
Fraud Under $5,000
Mischief Under $5,000
Theft of Cattle (2 counts)
Fraudulent Taking/Branding of Cattle (2 counts)
Theft Under $5,000 (2 counts)
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 (2 counts)
CLAYBURN was released on a Promise to Appear and an Officer in Charge Undertaking and will appear in Woodstock Court at a future date.
