(WASAGA BEACH, ON) Officers from the Huronia West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are presently on scene of a marine incident which took place in the area of beach area 1 in Wasaga Beach.
On the 22nd of August 2015 at approximately 1:20pm, OPP officers were dispatched to a missing person in the area of beach area 1 in Wasaga Beach. Investigation found that three people were on a small raft in Nottawasaga Bay when the vessel capsized which resulted in two persons on board being thrown into the water. One made it back to the surface however one did not and a search was initiated to try to locate her, including the Huronia West Marine unit which was on scene when the call came in.
The female was subsequently located in the water and transported to an area hospital and her condition is unknown at this time.
