CALL FROM ALERT CITIZEN LEADS TO ARREST

(LUCAN BIDDULPH, ON) On Monday July 22, 2013 at 00:33 a.m. the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from an alert citizen in regards to a possible impaired driver who was observed driving a black Pontiac G6 in the town of Lucan.

Police soon located the suspect vehicle on Albert Street and discovered that the driver had been drinking. The driver was placed under arrest at the scene for impaired driving and transported to the Lucan OPP detachment for further tests.

As a result of an investigation police have charged Dianne KELLY, age 45 of South Huron with Impaired Driving and Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80mg as per Section 253 of the Criminal Code (CC) of Canada. The driver was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to appear in a London court room on Aug 29, 2013 to speak to the charges.

Every day, four more Canadians are killed and 175 more are injured due to crashes related to alcohol and/ or drugs.
