(CALEDON, ON) – On July 4, 2014, Street Crime Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began an investigation into the sale of drugs in the Village of Bolton. Officers had information that the suspect was bound by a Recognizance Order with numerous conditions which included: to refrain from the possession of drugs and the possession of weigh scales and to remain at his residence at all times. Officers observed the suspect as a passenger in a vehicle travelling on Regional Road 50. Officers maintained observation as the vehicle returned to the suspect’s residence. The officers approached the male outside his residence at which time he became unco-operative and a struggle ensued. Once under control, a search of the accused uncovered a quantity of drugs, believed to be heroin and digital scales.
In conclusion, Daniel TAMILIA, 33 from Caledon was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule 2 substance, Resist Peace Officer and 3 counts of Breach of Recognizance.
The accused was held in custody and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton the following day to answer to the charges.
