(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment has charged a 31-year-old female after police were called to investigate an incident at a Montclair Crescent, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.
On Friday, May 6, 2016 at approximately 5:16 p.m., police responded to the address after being contacted by a concerned resident.
Through the course of investigation, it has been determined that a male and female became involved in a verbal altercation which turned into a physical confrontation resulting in the female assaulting the male using an edged weapon.
The male, a 37-year-old from Haldimand County, Ontario was transported to a local area hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries.
As a result of investigation, police arrested and charged 31-year-old Katherine Lena Marie BURKE of Norfolk County, Ontario with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
She is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.
