Twice during the past week Carodoc Golf Carts, a business on Milton Stewart Ave in McNab/Braeside was broken into. On September 10 the theft of a golf cart and rechargeable batteries was reported to the OPP. The gate to the compound was removed from its hinges to gain access to the property. On September 13 another theft of a golf cart and a battery charger was reported. A lock was cut in this instance to gain access. The stolen cart on September 13 is described as a white 2000 gas powered cart #165 on it. The battery charger is an EZ-GO charger. It is believed the two thefts are related. Provincial Constable Kyle Mask is investigating.
On September 16 an off duty police officer who resides in Arnprior observed a male breaking into a neighbour’s home on McLachlin St S. The officer arrested the male and called the OPP. Following an investigation Austen EKHOLM 18 of Arnprior was charged with break and enter, obstructing police / resisting arrest, and breach of probation. Further investigation revealed this residence was also broken into on September 11 when a case of beer was stolen, and again on September 12 when a quantity of cash and beer were stolen. The accused was also charged with two counts of break and enter and two counts of theft under $5,000 in relation to those investigations. He was held in custody for a bail hearing where he was remanded into custody until September 24th in Pembroke court. Provincial Constable Mark Young led the investigation.
A home on Ida St in Arnprior was broken into during the daytime on September 16th. Damage was done to property and a vehicle in the garage but it did not appear anything was taken. Provincial Constable Walid Kandar is investigating.
Another homeowner on Ida St in Arnprior contacted the OPP on September 17 to advise they discovered some beer missing from their garage beer fridge. They believe the theft occurred on September 14. Provincial Constable Mark Young is investigating.
A shed on Dominion St in Renfrew was entered overnight on September 17 and a bike was stolen. The bike is described as a Rally silver and burgundy mountain bike with a Tim Horton’s sticker on it. The bike had at least one flat tire on it. Provincial Constable Hayley Chaplin is investigating.
A home on Allan Dr in Arnprior was broken into during the daytime on September 19. The home was unlocked at the time and cash was stolen. There is a suspect and Provincial Constable Ken Rusaw is continuing to investigate.
