Date: June 20, 2015
Location: Colborne Street
Incident: On June 20, 2015 shortly after 10:00 p.m. a concerned citizen alerted the BPS to a possible impaired driver. The citizen obtained a description of a pickup truck, licence plate and advised that the pickup truck was last seen south bound in the area of Wayne Gretzky Parkway from Holiday Drive. Community Patrol Officers attended into the area and located the pickup truck turning west bound onto Colborne Street from WGP. Officers conducted a traffic stop and had conversation with the male driver. The driver was issued a demand of his breath into an approved screening device by the roadside. This resulted in a reading of ‘fail’. The accused was arrested and transported to the BPS where he provided two samples of his breath as required by law. The accused readings were 2 ½ times over the legal limit.
A 42 year old Brantford man was charged with Over 80 and was eventually released with a Promise to Appear at a future court date.
Further the accused licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
Type: Break and Enter (residential)
Incident # 15-19528
Date: June 21, 2015
Location: Port Street
Incident: On June 21, 2015 at approximately 6:55 a.m. an emergency 9-1-1- call was received from an alert neighbor in the area of Port Street regarding a break and enter in progress. An unknown male was observed using tools to break into a read door to a home on Port Street. It is believed that the accused heard the BPS arrive and fled the backyard. The accused stole a two wheeled push scooter and made an attempt to flee from police. BPS followed the male in a marked cruiser demanding that the male come to a stop. The accused ignored the demands and travelled into the area of Superior Street and Cayuga Street where he was observed falling off his scooter after an attempt to jump up onto a boulevard. At approximately 7:07 a.m. the accused was arrested for Break and Enter and transported to the BPS.
There was extensive damage to the door, it was bent and torn apart.
Further the accused was found to have Marihuana on his person.
The accused was eventually released from custody on a Promise to Appear with an Undertaking.
The accused an 18 year old man from Hagersville is charged with the following offences;
Break and Enter
Possession of Stolen Property under $5,000.00
Possession of Break in Instruments
Possession of Controlled Substance – Marihuana
Theft under $5,000.00
Fail to Comply with Undertaking.
Type: Break and Enter – Brantford Family Restaurant
Incident # 15-19391
Date: June 20, 2015
Location: Colborne Street East (600 block)
Incident: Sometime overnight on June 19, 2015 a rock was used to smash out a glass door and gain entry. Two cash registers were reported stolen.
