(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) – On Friday June 19, 2015, around 2:30 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers in Listowel responded to a 911 call from a resident of Wallace Ave South. The resident reported confronting a young male who had walked out of his neighbour’s garage with items in his hands. The young male dropped the items and ran away. Officers located the male a short distance away and arrested him.
The 17 year old male, a Municipality of North Perth Resident has been charged with “theft under $5,000”, and “break, enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence” contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in the Youth Justice Court in LIstowel on July 22, 2015 to answer to these charges.
Residents are urged to watch for suspicious persons, vehicles or activities in their neighbourhood. “You know who doesn’t belong”. Contact police immediately when something suspicious is observed.
