(County of Brant, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were kept busy with 14 motor vehicle collisions in a 24 hour period.
From 14 October 2016 at 6:00 a.m. to 15 October 2016 at 6:00 a.m. County of Brant OPP officers attended 14 motor vehicle collisions including 4 car vs deer, 1 car vs dog and 8 collisions caused by driver error.
The County of Brant OPP want to remind all the motoring public to be more cognizant that deer are becoming more active in rural areas and people need to be more cautious while driving especially at night.
Drivers also need to slow down and pay more attention to the task of driving. Eight of the accidents investigated were avoidable if people would slow down, pay more attention, drive appropriately and use caution.
