(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On July 30, 2016 at approximately 10:07 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 109 at Side Road 6 in Wellington North Township. The officer observed a male driving a 2005 Volvo at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 143 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
20-year-old Brandyn FORBES of Brampton has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on September 7, 2016 to answer to the charge.
