(Selwyn Township, ON) – On Friday December 5, 2014 shortly after midnight, members of the Peterborough County OPP attempted to stop a pickup truck on the 15th Line of Selwyn Township near North School Road. The suspect fled from police off road. The suspect vehicle collided with one of the police vehicles, causing minor damage. The suspect abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot.
Members of the Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Central Region Canine Unit conducted a search of the area. Responding units located the suspect as he entered another vehicle and was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
Blake WHITE (24) of Red Deer AB, is charged with Impaired Driving, Driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in his blood, Escape by Flight, Dangerous Operation of a Vehicle, Assaulting a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest. He is to appear in Peterborough Provincial Court on December 05, 2014 for a Show Cause Hearing.
