During the overnight hours of Sunday, April 13 to Monday, April 14, 2014, a pick-up truck was broken into and tools were taken while it was parked at an address on Highview Avenue East.
On Tuesday, April 15, 2015, officers from the London Police Service responded to a call that a couple of suspicious men were around a home on Forest Lawn Avenue, where it was known the occupants were not home.
At 12:04 p.m., two males exited the home and were arrested.
As a result of this investigation, 26-year-old Shane Campbell and 40-year-old Terry Elliott, both of no fixed address, have been charged with break and enter, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
It is believed that the home may have been broken into days prior, while the homeowners were still on vacation, at which time the keys to their vehicle and their vehicle were taken.
On Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 2:47 p.m., officers located the vehicle in a parking lot on Toulon Crescent with two males inside. Both males were arrested and taken into custody. One of the men was in possession of 2.9g of marihuana ($29) and 0.8g of crack cocaine ($80). Inside the vehicle were tools that were taken from the pick-up truck.
Ronald Towle (31) and Wayne Wise (47), both of London, have been charged with possession of stolen property exceeding $5000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) and two counts of possession of stolen property not exceeding $5000, contrary to section 354(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Ronald Towle has also been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
– escape lawful custody, contrary to section 145(1)(a);
– resist arrest, contrary to section 129(a);
– mischief under $5000, contrary to section 430(4);
– possess break-in instruments, contrary to section 351(1); and
– breach of probation, contrary to section 733.1(1);
as well as the following Controlled Drugs and Substances Act offences:
– possession of a Schedule I substance, contrary to section 4(1); and
– possession of a Schedule II substance, contrary to section 4(1).
