BARNETT – Home Invasion, Assault, Threats, etc

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment have arrested and charged a 22-year-old male after police investigated a Robbery at a Robinson Street, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at approximately 11:03 p.m., police responded to the address after an unknown male attended the residence and forcibly gained entry.

Investigation determined that the suspect attended the address and forcibly gained entry into the residence after the resident answered the door. Once inside, the suspect displayed a weapon and subsequently assaulted the occupants of the residence, causing minor injuries.

The unknown male then fled from the area in an unknown direction.

On Wednesday, April 27, 2016, the Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit with the assistance of the Norfolk County Street Crime Unit arrested and charged a male in connection with this incident.

Charged with the following offences is 22-year-old Kurt Anthony BARNETT of Brampton, Ontario.

Robbery using firearm

Break and enter

Assault with a weapon X2

Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm

He will appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.
