Auxiliary Unit Looking For The Spirit Of Christmas

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) In 2006, members of the Muskoka-Georgian Bay Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police Auxiliary held the inaugural “Stuff a Cruiser” campaign in the communities of Bracebridge and Huntsville. Police cruisers at various locations were filled to capacity several times with less fortunate children being the recipients of new, unwrapped toys and Christmas gifts. Since then they returned and were impressed with the spirit of Christmas in both communities.

This year, the Auxiliary members are optimistic for the same support from these communities. On Saturday December 13, 2014 the members can be found at Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire parking lots. The Salvation will distribute the gifts to children aging from infancy to 17 years old.

The OPP Auxiliary members are fully trained volunteers from the Muskoka communities that assist OPP members in the course of their duties. The Spirit of Christmas is alive and well amongst these volunteers and it is anticipated that the shopping public will make this initiative successful in helping a less fortunate child have a great Christmas.
